Is there a way to set up automated emails to user segments instead of roles? I’m trying to automate our gamification program email to congratulate the member and include a link to claim their prize, however right now I’m only able to ship prizes to community members in North America, so I don’t want the email to go out to anyone in another region.

Hey @laura.porcincula , which automated emails are you referring to? The email users get when they get a badge?

If you're talking about the on-app email campaign feature, you can select recipients based on user segments…

I think you could make this happen if you build a custom role and rank for this.

The role would need to be how you group all your NA members. So create a custom role of NA user and assign that to all of your NA members.

Then the rank could be whatever you’d like, but have the stipulation that they have to have that NA role to get to that rank. It’s basically duplicating the rank - one for NA and one for everyone else.

You can customize the private message they get there to include the link for a prize.

@Kgastaldo  ah yep, nice one, I can see this working!

Thanks @jvdc and @Kgastaldo, I am trying to use the automated emails to make it look nicer but the private message option is a good secondary option if I cannot make the campaign work the way I want to. I think you both have good ideas, maybe I should combine them like this:

  1. Create a NA member role
  2. Create a duplicate rank for each tier but give it a different internal name
  3. Choose “User has all of the selected roles” adding both NA
  4. Create a custom role for NA + Rank
  5. Automate emails to custom role NA + Rank

Do you think this will work?
