Hi operations Pro’s,

can I move comments and postings from the Support area into an idea?
I do get an error message. Usually when something isn’t possible to be merged the field specifies.
I am unsure if this is a continuous limitation of the product or an error.

Hi @Kenneth R,

thanks for confirming my theory. :)

My workaround is a bit complex, but I got to my end result.

Workaround:

  • Converting the Idea into a discussion.
  • Merging and moving comments into this discussion.
  • After finalizing and moving the comments, I convert it back into an idea.

Luckily, the votes are converting into likes and the other way round.

Best, Lena

Hi @Lena H. - yep, I’m afraid it isn’t possible to merge replies from questions and conversations into an idea currently. What you can do currently is convert a question or conversation into a new idea, but it sounds like that’s not what you’re looking for.

Hi @Lena H. wow amazing :) - before I posted my reply above I had actually done a bit of testing myself as I suspected a creative workaround might be possible.  But I hadn’t gotten as far as you, as I had taken the approach of first converting the conversation into an idea and then merging (which doesn’t really work).  Your approach is genius - love it.  :)
