Like it is possible to translate the main landing page is it possible to do it for custom pages?

I tried and it ends up replacing the default language ...

Hi @jvdc! Thanks for the question!

You’re right—custom pages can’t be translated directly the way the main homepage can. But what you can do is duplicate the custom page and then set up a separate version for each language.

Out of curiosity, what kind of setup are you building with localized custom pages? Knowing the use case might help us guide you better or suggest workarounds. And feel free to ask if you hit any blockers.

We're want to create landing/homepages for our different communities with more information than what a community category page would offer. We want to add specific messages, widgets, feature ideas dynamically, quick links etc… So custom page seems to be right path.

A bit like what you did here: https://communities.gainsight.com/p/cc-product

It's a shame because the way we can create a translated version of the main homepage is very handy!

About your idea with duplicating the custom page and translating it, would we be able to redirect people to the right page based on the language they've selected in the translation menu?

@jvdc Depends where you are adding the link. For instance, you could add the link to English custom page on your English homepage and the duplicated/localized custom page on the French (for instance) version of the homepage. A french user who has selected French language, would only see the custom page localized to French.

Please let me know if this approach works for you or if you have further questions. Will also be happy to jump on a quick call if you’d like.

Hey @Sudhanshu thanks for sharing solutions, indeed the language versioning of the main homepage might be enough, though I am thinking to also display links in other areas.

I'd be happy to hop on a quick call to discuss some ideas!

@jvdc You can use this link to schedule a call with me. Looking forward to it. 🙂
