Given that Gainsight has not implemented this functionality despite it being a feature request for over 5 years, it seems unlikely to happen soon.

Here is the product idea if anyone else wants to upvote

We're considering building it ourselves. If anyone has experience with this using a developer, we would greatly appreciate examples or feedback on the best approach. Thank you.

Userlevel 2

I have looked into this and at the moment it is pretty much impossible. There is not enough information available to the users and the only real way of achieving this would be to carry out a brute force following of all links from the homepage (the top of the tree) to the bottom of the tree.

However, there is the BI connector to CC Data Lake Silver Layer Beta taking place at the moment. I am part of this and the data available there would make it very simple to create a web service (hosted somewhere else) to search through the user data and return links to profiles that meet your search criteria. Obviously you would have to do this in a way that would protect your users’ personal information, but that would not be terribly hard to ensure.

Hey @mibrahim75

Our community did this using an HTML widget, while it is not perfect in search-ability via traditional community search banner it gets the job done.

We created a custom page with an html widget that has a side bar of filters and that update a table with specific filter criteria. (We are using a combination of .css, html, & JS)

We also are using the user data in Control → Users → Segments to build links to each users profile.

Essentially within our html widget table, we have clickable links to a members profile that are build out of the segments .csv file. This allows members of the community to use the directory to click on others members links where they can follow, etc.

The clear downfall is that this is not automated, so we update the widget on a weekly cadence.

Thanks,

Anthony
