Hey friends!

We’ve recently built up our video library on a third party platform that’s not supported by Customer Communities. However we’d still like to have the library available within our community.

In a perfect world, we’d embed the video library itself (not individual videos) into a custom page. Has anyone done this? Should it be possible via the HTML widget?

Good question. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible to do via an HTML widget, but that’s well beyond my technical expertise.

But I imagine you could iframe it in via the HTML widget.

One more recommendation for you though:

I’d imagine you want your videos searchable. You can index them in search via the API.

And (according to a recent update in the Beta group) forthcoming search experience improvements will make federated search content like this on equal footing in search results, showing the most relevant results, regardless if the content is hosted on the community or indexed via this API.

Hi @jwren 👋,

Are you able to share which platform you’ve built up your video library on? I can then check if it’s possible to get this added to our supported embedded media types.

Hey @olimarrio 👋

It’s Vidcast. And if that could be added as a supported type, it’d be a gamechanger for us.

@jwren unfortunately Vidcast isn’t support by Embedly 😔.

I think the best option is what @DannyPancratz described as it will be possible to add these using custom HTML widgets.

You could also create individual topics containing the link to the video (not embedded) so that these are still searchable, whilst also linking to the custom page that displays the entire video library.
