Is it possible to Embed YouTube Videos in an Event Description? For past events, I’l like to make them available to watch the recording. When I go the <> code area and paste the embed code, then click out, it’s removed and nothing changes.

Try just pasting the YouTube link itself, no embed stuff. Just in the WYSIWYG editor, not the code editor.
Auto-embeds for YouTube is part of the platform itself so you shouldn’t need the embed code or to even edit the code.
