Hello again 😅

I’m currently working on getting my product marketing team to post product release notes and other announcements. What type of access are you giving them in community?

I was thinking about this. You could also create a custom role to only allow specific people to post new items inside of a location. This would not require people to receive full moderator role. This would restrict the people who can post and you can control replies separately.

thank you, @mitchell.gordon. It it something we can do ourselves or would it be a customization? I was thinking of exactly that solution since we had this in Khoros, but creating custom roles here seems to be much more simple. Or I just haven’t found the correct place yet :)

If you create a new space, (Community, KB ect.) You need to go to the bottom of the space and setup the permissions for the space. Permissions include if the role can view it, create a post or reply. There is not a permissions structure like Khoros on GS CC where there is an Author, Publisher, Editor and Moderator role. Its all or nothing unless you get creative.

Here is my only work around and it impacts emails: You can create a community category, hidden behind permissions, where “authors” can publish their draft. This will only be visible to Author, Publisher, Editor and Moderator role users. You then only allow Moderators and Publishers to publish onto production boards that are public facing. Those users have moderator permissions in GS CC. They go to admin to adjust the post before moving the post to customer facing locations. Its a stretch but something that might work for some orgs.
