Federated Search in Community - How to deploy?

Hey!

We are looking to integrate federated from an external source (Sharepoint) into our community. We have looked at the documentation here, shared by ​@Sebastian , but we are still missing some pieces of the puzzle :-)

How can we deploy the external source's API requests to the community? Do we need to create a Gainsight connector?

Oh I’m sorry ​@jvdc - my bad.  Are you using something like Workato or Zapier?  As the instructions in the article say, once you’ve pulled the results from Sharepoint and organized them, you can then post them into the search index of CC using this endpoint: https://api2-us-west-2.insided.com/docs/search/#tag/Federated-Search/operation/index.  Does that make sense?

Hi ​@jvdc - the documentation you linked to is about getting federated search results added to the community’s search.  But I think you’re looking for federated search ‘the other way’, with community results showing in Sharepoint.  To do that, hopefully it’s just a matter of pointing the Sharepoint search to the CC search endpoint: https://api2-us-west-2.insided.com/docs/search/#tag/Search

hey ​@Kenneth R, sorry if it wasn't clear :D we are indeed looking to expose Sharepoint in the search results of the community's search. But we are not sure how to deploy these Sharepoint results inside the Gainsight CC search...
