Form to collect interest in advocacy program?

Gaby

We want to use the community to do a callout for those interested in joining our advocacy program. Is there any functionality like a form or way to collect interest in that way (in a private way). I don’t want to touch the overall reg form to join the community - this would be something separate from that…

Thank you!

Hi @Gaby

As I see it there are two methods:

  1. User profile field
  2. External data collection

Since you have said you do not want to add to the registration page. A user profile field could be added into the profile page. You would then have to prompt members to go in and check the box. The url would be community.xxxxxx.com/settings/profile.

This would allow you to create an internal segment within CC for widget-ization (I may have just made that up😊), email campaigns etc.

Otherwise, ideas that come to mind

  1. link to an external advocacy tool
  2. link to an external form (google forms , microsoft forms etc)

It would be straightforward to create a button in a html widget that links to an exterior solution.

Or even a Topic / Article that explains the program and how to get involved.

We have an external advocacy tool that we link out to from a html widget. Below is the widget we put in the community. A smart thing would be making the widget visible to only a segment of your community using the visibility settings. i.e. recruiting power users for example.

@Gaby I don’t use the backend of Gainsight very often, so I can’t help with your specific question. But...I built an advocacy program from the ground up, and it’s been running (with changes to strategy) for 8+ years. If you ever want to talk advocacy strategy, I’m your gal! Let me know, and we can set up a call.

Side note - as someone who has their nonprofit (Building for Bridget) listed in Benevity, I am interested in what you’re building on a personal level. 😀

@Gaby Question - are you interested in using Gainsight itself to do the data collection? Or are you open to utilizing a form on another tool (e.g. a Google Form), but incorporating that into your community callout?
