Gainsight CC: Take Action in Your Community with CC MCP, Now with Write Tools

CC MCP now does more than search and analyze. With the new write tools, you can publish content, manage ideas, and moderate your community through a conversation with your AI tool.

Here’s What’s New

Content publishing from your AI tool

  • Create and publish articles and product updates

  • Start conversations and ask questions on behalf of your community team

  • Edit titles and content, reply to topics, and close or reopen them

  • Assign a moderator to a topic without leaving your conversation

Ideation management from your AI tool

  • Edit idea titles and content, and reply to ideas

  • Assign idea statuses such as Planned, and update product areas

  • Add or remove tags and moderator tags

  • Merge votes, close ideas, and vote or unvote

  • Submit new ideas

Who This Is For

  • Community managers who want to publish and update content faster

  • Moderators who want to triage topics and ideas in bulk

  • Product teams who want to keep idea statuses and product areas current without clicking through the UI

Note: Write tools are available to moderators, community managers, and admins only. Regular community members cannot use them.

See It In Action

Here’s what you can ask CC MCP today:

  • “Close all topics in the Announcements category that are older than 90 days.”

  • “Set the status of the idea ‘Dark mode’ to Planned and tag it with ‘UI’.”

  • “Draft a product update for this month’s release and publish it.”

  • “Merge the votes from this duplicate idea [idea url] into the original idea [idea url].”

  • “Assign Sam as the moderator for this topic: [topic url].”

How to Get Access

  • Claude users: Refresh your tool list or reconnect the CC MCP connection.

    • Click on your profile and navigate to Settings. In settings click on Connectors. Look up and open ‘Gainsight (Customer Communities)’. Click the three dots next to the disconnect button and select “Refresh tools list”.

    • Once refreshed, check that the new write tools appear in your tool list. Your account needs a moderator, community manager, or admin role to see them.

  • ChatGPT users:

    • Go to https://chatgpt.com/plugins.

    • Search for Gainsight Customer Communities (or open: https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6a22f24088808191850f0f9d9281120b).

    • Click install plugin.

Hey Mitchell, what do you mean exactly? Are you not able to find the MCP in the directories or are you not able to connect to it, or something else?
