Hi there,

Is it possible to get the post’s URL before actuappy publishing it? Or what is the best practice if we want to incorporate a link somewhere, but hide the content for now?

Hiya @Marina Perminova !

I was just going through the list of unanswered questions, and it looks like this is one of them.

As far as I’m aware, new posts only get a URL once they’re published and you can’t get any while you’re still drafting. The best workaround that I can think of for this, would be to spin up a private category that’s only visible to trusted users and then use that to store your drafts in. As long as the category isn’t public, you can keep it hidden away while working.

Provided you have the ability to edit your posts without a time limit, you could then edit as much as you need to before moving the thread to a public category. While I think the URL should redirect cleanly, it’s generally best to post links only after it’s ready to go and is public, so that there’s no chance of them breaking later.
