Question

Has anyone published a 'calendar'?

Was hoping to have a page or ‘article’ that shows key dates - either big events or product releases.  Is this possible?

Hey there @susans ! Welcome to inSpired. :)

There isn’t technically a calendar as such, but the Events and Product Updates modules may have what you’re looking for, such as the one over here on inSpired. https://community.insided.com/events and https://community.insided.com/product-updates .

They don’t present as a calendar, but they do work pretty well for the purposes that I think you’re after. It’s also easier than trying to manually create something. :)

Thanks @Blastoise186 . . . this is similar to what we have today and gets very “scroll-y” after about 3 items.

Was hoping for something more visual, that you could click into to see details.

Gotcha. Creating a calendar based view could well be handy then. Let me see if anyone else has ever suggested that before. I'll let you know!

I just wanted to revive this old thread to see if anyone had come up with a calendar view as discussed? I am looking to do one for our community. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Hi @Chris Hackett 👋,

It is possible to create by adding an HTML widget for whichever pages you can ‘Edit Layout’ e.g. the events page, custom page, or homepage. I vibe coded this calendar using ChatGPT in about 15 minutes:

With a bit more work you could create links to events in the community from the calendar. This would involve keeping the calendar up to date by adding and removing events from your Third Party Scripts but it shouldn’t be too much effort if you have your events scheduled far in advance so that you can update these in bulk.
