How to disable an old page URL in CC Control?

We use a pretty standard template for our User Groups page so far (which was delivered by Gainsight team when we kicked off our community). Since this does not allow any customization on this page, I recently created a custom page for the same which could further allow us to sort and showcase the user groups as per categories - groups by region, language, location etc. using the Group widget.

I have already switched the URL on our navigation tab to that of our new custom page but it appears that the old link is still active. Could anyone help guide me how I can disable it?

The old link could still be in our user’s bookmark so ideally would also be helpful if we could create a redirection to this new page if possible.

I am not sure why it is still active, but you could use a small script to redirect the old url to the new one? That would also be helpful in case people have saved it.

@jvdc Thanks for the quick response. Could you please guide me how that is done or lead me to a documentation? I unfortunately do no have a lot of coding experience and I’m fairly new to Gainsight CC as well.

@shreenith.naik I would add something like this to the 3rd party scripts, before the </body> tag:

<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.6.0.min.js"></script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
$('a[href="https://yourwebsite.com/old-page"]').on('click', function(e){
e.preventDefault();
window.location.href = "https://yourwebsite.com/new-page";
});
});
</script>

Give it a try? I just generated this with ChatGPT.

By old link, do you mean a group you want to close out? You can delete the group in admin if you must. Admin > Platform > Groups.
A redirect might be best for those who kept the link saved like @jvdc said above.
Admin > Customizations > Third-Party Scripts

@shreenith.naik, I don’t have a solution, but am interested in seeing how you laid out your new custom Groups page. Is that something you’d be willing to show in a screenshot?

I use the out of the box Groups page and dont love that I cant customize.

Our super user program is no longer a group but a custom permission. Everything is setup via custom pages now. The homepage is https://community.jamf.com/p/jamf-heroes but there are others behind it that require permissions.
