Hi! We are in the processes of setting up the ideation module in our community. We are currently testing it in sandbox. When I test post an idea (as a user) I get a notification saying my idea needs to be approved by a moderator. Is this because it is in sandbox or do all ideas need to be approved by a moderator?

Also, we are planning on slowly rolling out the products you can leave ideas for. Is there a way to make the idea areas different from the product areas drop down?

Hi @aisha.barajas - It looks like you might have some Settings > Pre-moderation Rules enabled.  We don’t generally recommend enabling moderator approval of all posted content.

Currently the only taxonomy available for Ideas is the Product Areas - but the good news is that you can have more than one level.  So I’d recommend to consider having a top-level for the main products, and then in the level below that the features / areas.  You can see this approach in action in our community here.

Hi @Kenneth R - It seems we did have pre-moderaion rules enabled. We were testing the AI Moderation Beta in Sandbox and were told to turn those settings on. If we choose to implement AI Moderation, is there a way to avoid needing to approve ideas that customers post since those settings must be turned on for the AI to work?

Hi @aisha.barajas Ah yes, understood.  The AI Moderation Beta did require pre-moderation to be enabled at one point, but that is thankfully no longer a requirement.  You can now keep this setting disabled (even with AI Moderation on).
