Our product documentation is housed in Gainsight’s Knowledge Base, and our Knowledge Management team utilizes pinned topics to present articles in a specific order. We just ran into an issue in one folder where there are 204 topics, but apparently there is a limit of 100 pinned topics.

Does anyone know of a different way to manage article order? Or is this pin limit adjustable?

You’re not using the drag and drop reordering functionality?

We are, but (at least in our instance) you have to pin articles before you can re-order them, and we can only pin the first 100.

That’s interesting. I see what you’re saying now.

It seems that the UI and functionality has been updated quite a bit since I used the KB (We only use the KB for one niche use case managed by some colleagues)

I would imagine Gainsight’s recommendation is going to be to find themes that allow for breaking up that large category into sub-categories.

But it sounds like that’s not the route y’all want to go.

It’s what I’ve suggested to our KM team as well, as scrolling through 200 articles in a KB category could be unwieldy for many users. I believe they’re working on consolidation.

That said, it’s a bit surprising that drag and drop reordering isn’t available for all articles, without pinning.
