Localised Community: cross-language searchability

Hi! With Language-Specific Search Filters in mind, has Gainsight looked into cross-language searchability and retrieval, as well as multilingual indexing?

If a community has good resources about X topic in English, it would be great for users to be able to find that content even if it is being searched for in a non-English language. A workaround that crossed my mind were public tags, but these are not translated either.

Any pointers or workarounds? Would this be on the roadmap?

Thank you!

Hello! I help to build the multi language system at Palo Alto Networks. https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/

The system basically was built x times over for each language. When you select a language, the page changes to that new homepage and your language selector in app changes. Once here, content is in that native language. These communities are open and indexible/searchable by search systems like Google. There were people responsible for moderating the space who was fluent in the language.

Drawbacks: Moderation became harder in the community as a result. The bot system got used to additional languages being used regularly.

Happy to answer any questions!

Once here, content is in that native language.

Am I correct in understanding you/fluent moderators were creating that content, originally in that language, for that space specifically?

Yes, the info on those pages were written and moderated by individuals fluent and in those local areas for that organization.

I have worked at other organizations where individuals fluent in a specific language we stated to create content for. That gets hard however as individuals move on and it is still somewhat expected of the platform.
