Hey,

As we don't have the possibility to mark multiple answers as “Best Answer”, how do you do it when another good answer comes in later on? You unmark the old one and mark the more recent one? Sometimes multiple answers can be as good…

Is it wort suggesting this as feature?

Hey @jvdc

Love this question!

Sharing my perspective here:

I usually hold off on marking a Best Answer unless the question truly calls for it — for example, when someone’s walked through a setup, API calls, or other technical details.

For best-practice or discussion-style threads, I prefer to keep the post open-ended and conversational since it doesn’t feel fair to highlight just one of the many great responses. I even turn the post into a conversation in such a case.

Here’s how I usually handle the Best Answer scenario:

  • Wait until the conversation wraps up — including a follow-up from the original poster saying thank you or if they ask further questions — and then pick the most suitable response.

  • Revisit and update if needed — if a new answer comes in that’s more detailed or specific (often on older threads), I’ll unmark the previous one and set the new one as Best Answer to reflect the latest context.

  • In VERY rare cases, if multiple people share excellent insights, I’ll summarize the key points from all of them and mark that summary as the Best Answer.
