Does anyone know if it’s possible to change the default ordering of content to be ‘newest’ instead of ‘recently active’?

From my testing, I do not believe this is possible in todays system. This would have to be a feature request.
You can create a new category and make it first however, sorting it by post date instead of last activity is not something I could find.

There are a couple of possible workarounds, depending on what you’re trying to do.

You can customize the order of content in a Knowledge Base, although I assume you’re looking more at community posts.

You can also use a Dynamic Content Widget to surface specific content sorted by Publication Date.

Neither of these is likely exactly what you’re looking for, but sharing just in case it leads you to creative solutions! 😅
