Could the Product Ideas module (post, and upvote) be opened up into just Groups in the community?
Like if I wanted to create a specific group in the community, and only let this group have access to use the product ideas module is this possible?

We will be releasing the ability to add Ideas into Community categories (which can be gated by granting permissions to specific custom roles) very soon which I think would help support the use case you described. I’ll also share with our Product team that you would like to be able to do something similar using the Groups functionality as well.
Hi Deja, I don’t think it’s possible to “embed” the functionality of the Product Updates module itself into a group/on the group page itself. But, I think you could create a similar experience using specific permission settings for the Product Updates module as-is. If you created a custom user role for all members of that group, you could correspondingly give permission to only users who have that role!
