Sending Custom Roles from CC to Skilljar

Happy Monday All,

 

Has anyone managed to use the custom roles in CC for segmentation and Grouping in Skilljar?

I don't have a customer example to point to, but one thing worth flagging is that the "Custom Role" mapping name is a bit misleading and we’ll get that copy changed promptly. What actually happens is a mapping from Community Role to a Skilljar signup field, since Skilljar doesn't have a Role concept of its own. Once mapped, it behaves like any other signup field on the Skilljar side, so it should slot into whatever segmentation you have or want to have running there.

Can you send me documentation on how to map a custom role to a sign up field? 

If I can then use those sign up fields for grouping it will achieve the segmentation i need.
