Subscribing to "unanswered questions" page

I know you can "Subscribe" to community forums, groups, events page...etc., but what about the "unanswered questions" page? There isn’t a “Subscribe” button it like the others.

I'd love the ability to do this - does anyone have suggestions for how to do that be it a custom widget, coding...etc? Or maybe a really simple way already exists? 😀

Hey @Gaby
This is such a great question, let me ask internally about this and see if there’s a way to do this 😊

In the meantime, @jvdc @DannyPancratz @mitchell.gordon @atwhite - have you done anything similar to this before?

I’m guessing you can’t subscribe to that page because, since an unanswered question is just a new question that never gets a response, there’s no trigger or definition for it, no moment when a question suddenly becomes “unanswered.”

But, we have been doing a lot of work this year to see how else we could drive users to answer more questions, including finding more ways to help users notice unanswered questions.

We updated the styling of the Tabs widget to make it easier for users to see that they’re tabs, and then configured an “Open Questions” tab that shows questions without responses.

We also added a Dynamic Content widget in the homepage sidebar that features the three most recent questions without replies, pulled specifically from our Community Q&A forum, where we direct users to ask questions (versus starting a conversation).

I don’t know if that’s helpful at all, but I’m happy to talk more about it.

@atwhite This is a great example of what you can do! This is the best workaround for now as it is in a centralized page for users to see.

While you can’t vibe code a “Subscribe” button as it requires a lot more backend code to function properly, this is a great enhancement request that we will consider. There are plenty of ideas on how to improve Notifications, but I don’t see an idea on this specific one in the community so you should create one proper @Gaby 😁

Regardless, I’ll route to the product manager responsible for notifications and subscriptions so he is aware of your idea: @deepan

I use a 2:1 widget for this but do not have the subscribe option. Inside of this widget, we have a “Help Others” tab that displays all the unanswered topics inside of the community.

I do like the side widget idea @atwhite had. That can make it stand out a lot more than a tab.
