Hey is it possible to turn off the automated comment when changing an idea's status?

Hi @jvdc

Unfortunately, this is not possible. Curious to know - any particular reason you don’t want those updates to go in to the thread?

Sometimes I just want to change statuses in the background without having to notify users :-)

Makes sense. :D

Not sure of any workaround though if anyone else is trying a similar scenario.

Natively though, it’s not possible.

I could definitely see a use case for this. Bulk updating Idea statuses has the potential to generate a lot of noise via notifications for members who are active in Ideas. Additionally, more to @jvdc’s point, sometimes an idea needs to be handled delicately.

A quick pop-up prompt to ask, “Do you want to notify subscribers of this change?” would be great. The comment about the status change would post either way for full transparency, but the option to send or skip the notification that goes with it could be helpful.
