Why does it take so long for the email stats to populate?

Whenever I send out my monthly email to my Online Community, it takes FOREVER for the stats to populate and it is FRUSTRATING. Especially when it shows it has been sent to 0 people for an extended period of time and I wonder if it did or did not successfully send to hundreds of people. Does this happen to other people? This doesn’t seem common across other email tools.

I agree it’s frustrating. For me, it’s been better after getting this answer and being able to manage my expectations. 

The immediate showing of sent to zero people is the worst part for me. Even knowing this, it still causes anxiety to see those empty stats immediately after hitting send. It’d be better if at least the sent stats were accurate at the outset and then the open/click rate, etc stats could populate later, as it does take time (post-send) for those to get to a meaningful or normalized signal of how the email performed.

Every 3 hours seems waaaaaaay too far apart for any email tool for this age.
