Seeing this message pop up on several topics on our community (as an admin) and also on this one. Is this related to an issue?

@Jef Vanlaer We’re also seeing this appear on all of our Ideas, so I’m guessing it’s a general issue, not something that either one of us has done!

It’s not even true, btw. I can still post replies!

Still present and mainly occurring on Product Ideas indeed.

@Kenneth R @revathimenon @Yoeri @olimarrio Any idea what’s going on here?

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the trouble & thanks for raising this.

I’ve raised this internally for the team to take a look and will loop back soon.

@Jef Vanlaer @FMEEvangelist can you please share with me topics where you see this and which users are seeing this banner?

This was very recently introduced and according to category permissions, certain users should not be able to reply to topics where their roles don’t have said permission to reply, therefore seeing that banner.

It should not affect ideas though.

Please, let me know so we can take a look.

@hhugo On this (Gainsight) community, I’m seeing it on every Product Idea and Product Update at least. It’s the same on our own community, where I’m an admin.

Example Idea:

Example Product Update:

@Jef Vanlaer thank you for calling this out - we are actively looking at this and preparing a fix for the issue.

@Jef Vanlaer @FMEEvangelist we have reverted the deployed code that adds this new banner.

We will now assess what checks failed that made the banner show up in content types where reply permissions do not exist (ideas and product updates) fix it and re-deploy it.

My apologies for any confusion this may have caused to you or your community members.

Any other questions, please let me know!

@Jef Vanlaer @FMEEvangelist we redeployed the code to introduce this new banner “You have no permissions to reply to this topic.”.

This is now working as expected and not interfering with Product Updates and Ideas where we are not setting replying permissions at the moment.

If you do spot strange behaviour this particular feature, please let me know in this topic or reach out to our support team at CCsupport@gainsight.com
