Why would a CTA be sent to a CSM that is NOT on the account?

Please help!!!

SFDC & GS both show the correct CSMs yet one of my CSMs received a CTA from an account that was not his.

How can I troubleshoot this?

@MelissaC If you go to Rules Engine, and then, click on Execution Log, you should be able to expand and see in each task where it’s grabbing that particular person to add them into the CTA as the owner.  That would be my first stop.  Is it possible the CSM changed between when the CTA was created and when you noticed it was the wrong person?  That would be other option.  CTAs don’t automatically get reassigned with a change in CSM assignment.

Hey @heather_hansen !  Can you screenshot where the “execution log” is?  Thanks!

@MelissaC sorry for the delay!

Execution Log option:

Click on the 3 dots to the right of the rule name.

Then, click on Execution Logs at the top:

Then you can click on the arrow on the far right to expand that execution.

Then, you’ll see each task with a + next to it, and you can expand that section to see what was created with that dataset.

The eyeball will open up a sample of the data, and the down arrow will export the full dataset.

Thank you so much, @heather_hansen !  I just don’t see the CTA/Rule Name that it’s pulling from…  I need to do more digging😐

@MelissaC

One tip that may help as you’re researching this or into the future: When you are viewing your Rules in the Rules Engine, you can add a filter so that only the Rules that impact a CTA are displayed. That trick will save you time by not having to open the Execution Logs for every single Rule.

You’ll still need to use @heather_hansen’s input to view the logs, but at least you’ll have fewer logs to view. It’s possible your CTA could also be coming from Journey Orchestrator, so that may warrant a look if you can’t find the offending Rule in the Rules Engine.

In the Rules List:

  1. Click the Add Filter button.
  2. In the Filter, configure Action Name in Call to Action
  3. Your resulting rule list will have only the CTA Rules.
  4. ProTip: Remember to remove the filter later, so all your rules display.
