Gabolino

I don’t think this idea has been posted before. Truth is these days a like-only button doesn’t seem enough, and internet users tend to prefer having more options when it comes to reacting to a topic or comment.

Perhaps Slack-style is too much for a community forum, but I think LinkedIn has offered a good balance.

These are the reactions I see can be quite useful: like, love, support, useful, funny, sad, insightful.

Hi Gabolino!

Thank you for the idea, me and the team really like it. This could open up possibilities about measuring engagement with content more precisely. We will open this idea to gather votes. Until then, do you think it would be important to exclude negative emotions like LinkedIn or should we allow for some like Facebook does? I am just wondering.

I wouldn’t have negative emotions per se, but I think it’s ok to have reactions that are not entirely happy, such as   or  :disappointed_relieved:.

Im not a fan of thumbs down for instance, but you can have a ‘I’m not too sure’ emoji and still keep things cool :D

Hey Gabolino,

Makes sense for me! We will let you know if this gets into our backlog.

Thank you!

Yep I think this is a great idea. I posted this one below but I feel this will have it covered.

If one of the reactions relates to a high quality or useful sentiment gauge, and we can choose point allocation to support and encourage this behaviour, it’s a great idea for getting better quality posts.

I like this idea. Vanilla platform has several reactions and you can build your own reactions if you want.

Beside this allows users to engage more and different ways, it is possible to measure topic (content) quality with reactions. Also we can link them with gamification, users can earn points when adding / earning reactions.

And so on.

Examples above are from nokia.com and king.com. They dont use all the possible reactions. I dont remember what are custom ones.

I’m surprised this hasn’t received more votes, but I agree tt would be a valuable addition to have more reaction options, such as 'celebrate,' 'love,' and 'agree,' rather than just a single 'like' option.

Within our community, this is also a frequently asked question. What is the current status of this idea?
