Customers love Timeline and want to make it meatier, juicier and easy to use.

Here are some great feedback I recieved from one of our customers:

1. Custom filter options in Timeline: Right now, it is restricted to a few. But what if the customer wants to look at the all the updates of type risks where the exec sponsor was present. What if the customer wants to see EBRs that happened onsite? What about the EBRs that have red sentiment? All this is possible now using reports but given that each layout is different, we are looking for a cumbersome option when it comes to creating 20+ reports out of the possible permutations.

2. No easy way to know the activity as it relates to a certain contact: Say Kyle is a contact and you want to know if Kyle was present in an EBR, last cadence call and was copied in an email? What if you click on Kyle in the external attendee option and know how engaged Kyle has been with your team?

can we please please have a way for others to edit / comment on timeline entries? when a new CSM takes over an account - or another team member wants to contribute to a note, we have to create a new timeline entry. then one topic is splintered across timeline.

Hello Everyone!

Happy to announce that Timeline is enhanced as per Gainsight Horizon Experience as part of the v6.18 release (SFDC / NXT). The Timeline Horizon Experience gives prominent space to high priority information as well as new options to search and filter Timeline. Users now have the ability to edit Activity Type after creating an activity, create and save Timeline views, preview attachments, manage drafts from a consolidated tab, and much more.

For more information on this feature, refer to the SFDC & NXT articles.

This feature is implemented in both SFDC and NXT versions.

Thanks for posting!

@rakesh_lingala  with the new Horizon experience, timeline notes are compressed unless clicked on. Can it be set to default to be expanded? We have feedback from CSMs that it was nicer to see the whole note without having to expand. It would great if this could be something the CSM can set depending on their individual preferences.

CSMs want the ability for the notes to be longer rather than wider, or to be able to set to not compress at all.

@andreammelde Notes were always available on click, after expanding the activity. Can you please share more details about the CSM expectations?

ttached an example. It would be great to have a selection at the top that would allow CSMs to have the entries automatically expanded if selected. If not, the default compacted version would display

@nitisha_rathi  - is there any thought on allowing users to edit entries that they have not created? This is handy for CSM transitions and also for anytime there is a collaboration in a meeting. Use case: CSM enters in the entry and assistant goes in to take notes in the same place where agenda was made

@Erseburse could you please create a new post with the above request for better tracking purpose.

Hello Everyone!

Happy to announce that your request has been partially considered and included as part of the v6.23 release (SFDC / NXT). Advanced Filters for Timeline Activities now contain more operators for filter configuration. This enhancement gives users flexibility when filtering data and creating reports. It also makes timeline filters consistent with the filters in other product areas, such as Report Builder and Rules Engine.

This feature is implemented in both SFDC & NXT versions.
