Provide other ways to sort the list of public tags

It would be helpful to be able to sort the list of public tags by something other than usage (number of topics tagged). We have a number of tags we use and the system only catches exact duplicates we may have when adding a new tag and a simple sort by title would help us identify these easier and explore whether to merge a tag.

Thanks for sharing this idea @Scott Baldwin, makes sense. Will there be someone on your team regularly checking for duplicate tags?

@daniel.boon primarily the Community Manager - though I would extend to Administrators and Moderators if they can also add new tags

I’d love an alpha sort. We use tags for reporting purposes and similar to what Scott mentions, being able to see these in a different order would make it easier to spot duplicates/”unsanctioned” tags (sometimes Admins make mistakes too).

Great suggestion @Laura D. One way I keep an eye out for unsanctioned tags is my adding “public tags” to my content moderation views.

I would love an alpha sort just to make it easier for users to scroll and pick the appropriate tag.
