Our team has a lot of data we want to track for Success Plans. While I know we can create data designs or rules to do this, both solutions are generally clunky with current SP config, and also do not allow our users to see the results of this information directly from the Success Plan. Certain fields we are looking to calculate and push to SP:
- Actual Start Date -the first date a CTA or Task was marked as completed
- Estimated Duration (Days) - the difference between two manual inputs for Target Start & End Dates
- Actual Duration (Days) - the difference between our actual start date & the system Close Date.
If we had the option to build formula fields directly on the SP object, it would save me from having to build some really annoyingly complex Rules to populate these values. We have 9 different Success Plan types with these custom fields on them. This means that to properly evaluate which SPs have values that need to be updated, I need 27 actions because custom fields cannot be configured to be editable for all types on which they are displayed. Formula fields would solve this issue.
Please weigh in if you have a use case for formula fields on SPs, or if you have better solutions to what I’m currently building because this feels crazy complicated for no reason. 😅
