We have unified search in our KC bots, which means that search finds content:
- In the KC bot within the main self-help section or any category
- From the integrated search (Google search to a domain)
We are now starting to use “recommended content” to add content applicable to the current screen that someone is on.
Unified search does not find recommended content that is not otherwise part of the KC bot- I checked with Support, and was told “it currently excludes content within the recommended section from search results”.
The ask
We would like unified search to find the content that is added to recommendations. If someone is not currently on a screen with the content, they should still be able to find through search. For example, perhaps a new user exploring saw some recommended content, but when they are on a different screen, they don’t see the recommendation.
If there are use cases to not show all recommended content in search, perhaps there could be a way to mark either content or recommendations to show up in unified search.
