I’ve noticed, only by screen sharing with CSMs mind you, that many of our users are using outdated versions of GS Home that are riddled with outdated reports, using incorrect fields, filters, and all around missing out on updated experience with the feature.

As an admin, there are two major limitations with the current experience using GS Home:

  1. Admins have limited reporting visibility to the customizations end users have made across the entire platform (apart from logging in as each individual user, which is NOT a scalable solution for this use case), and cannot easily see which reports they are using in GS home
  2. When a new version of GS Home is developed, admins should have the ability to push this version to all, or a subset, of users to keep them using consistent reporting.

This could appear as a push notification for the end user saying “Your admin has published a new version of the GS Home page, would you like to preview or use this version?

I’ve seen the idea of allowing users to flip between their personalized version and the admin published version of GS Home, which is also a great idea.

Thank you!

Hi @ajprince I thought users were sent a notification letting them know that the admin published a new version of Home - I sometimes see this when clicking on the bell icon at the top right of Gainsight. However, I do agree that users personalizing their Homes can quickly become an issue once reports become outdated. To my knowledge, there is no way for admins to force push the admin Home version to their view once personalized.

However, if you ever find yourself running into issues with deleting old reports that have a Gainsight Home dependency due to personalized Homes, and also identifying those users who are using outdated reports, @romihache came up with a great solution for fixing this!
