So apparently this is an “intended” design:
If you use the out of the box “Cockpit” widget in the new Home’s Summary Ribbon and open any CTA report like “CTAs due this week” you cannot open any of the CTAs. Funny enough you can close them, but because of the needlessly limited real estate you can hardly read the name of the CTA. The widget feels hardly usable and not at all actionable.
Please allow users to open the CTA from this window.
Furthermore, you can add a “Tasks” column which is formatted as a hyperlink but you can’t click that to open the tasks either…

At least we still have the “Actions” widget so they can do something with the CTAs from Home 😕
+10I JUST came to create this same idea. This is a great example of functionality that is SO CLOSE to achieving greatness and falls short. The point of these widgets is to take action on the CTA. They cannot do that if they don’t have a way to get to the CTA from this view 😓

Sometimes you need to see the whole picture, and deliver something beyond a single, very narrow, user story for it to make sense. In cases like this, there is a tendency to not even adopt the new feature. As a result “adding the windows” gets deprioritized (no one likes the hole in the wall so why would we add windows?) and it’s just a downward spiral of semi-useful features.

+10Seconding this request and will share it more widely to get upvotes. It is really frustrating that a user cannot click on the CTA to actually open it up from Home on these summary widgets!
They often times want to access the CTA to add comments, complete tasks, and change custom fields.
The ability to do status & due date from the inline report is helpful but please take it one step further by allowing access to the CTA itself!
