We should be able to MANUALLY reroute participants within a JO if they fail a step.
This would rely heavily on the idea Thomas suggested ☝, as we’d need to get that notification to go into the program to make sure they were moved to the appropriate step.
Example:
- If participant fails, let us specify which step the participant should move to at the next send window (if multiple actions in the JO)
Alternatively, we should be able to conditionally reroute participants that fail a step.
Examples:
- If participant fails due to system error, move to [insert step here]
- If participant fails due to system error and [value] meets [criteria], move back to evaluate step and attempt action again -- stop after [x] system errors and show error count
- If participant fails due to null *field* email address, send this email
Not being able to re-trigger these actions and having to try to manually re-add failed participants to journeys (especially ones triggered by events or recurring sources) can be very problematic, and leads to distrust of JO for sending important emails.
