This is related to @TMaier’s idea from this morning:

We should be able to MANUALLY reroute participants within a JO if they fail a step.

This would rely heavily on the idea Thomas suggested ☝, as we’d need to get that notification to go into the program to make sure they were moved to the appropriate step.

Example:

  • If participant fails, let us specify which step the participant should move to at the next send window (if multiple actions in the JO)

Alternatively, we should be able to conditionally reroute participants that fail a step.

Examples:

  • If participant fails due to system error, move to [insert step here]
  • If participant fails due to system error and [value] meets [criteria], move back to evaluate step and attempt action again -- stop after [x] system errors and show error count
  • If participant fails due to null *field* email address, send this email

Not being able to re-trigger these actions and having to try to manually re-add failed participants to journeys (especially ones triggered by events or recurring sources) can be very problematic, and leads to distrust of JO for sending important emails.

Hi Team,

I wanted to echo what Dayn Johnson mentioned, as this is critically important. We need to ensure that emails are auto-triggered whenever there’s a system failure or glitch. In this case, the issue didn’t arise due to a configuration error, but rather because the system didn’t perform as expected. I apologize if this comes across as blaming the product; my intent is to ensure that we continue to have a robust Gainsight product in the market that maintains its reputation as the top CRM platform.

Thank you.
