Justin Bills

Hello -

With all these amazing additions to inline editing, we are starting to create some really easy to use/high impact inline editing dashboards in Gainsight.   I think now is the perfect time to add some more robust visual displays to our tabular reports.

I’m requesting that we allow us to start doing the following things:

  1. Ability to color code columns in a dashboard - Use case:  We can color code editable columns in a report on a dashboard to make it easy for end users to understand what is editable and what is not.
  2. Add color options to picklists in reports.  -   Another great update would be to take the functionality from CTA reporting (Statues/type) and add the ability to use those on fields in reporting.  This would allow us give end users an extra visual when looking at their book of business.

Bonus Points - Adding more color functionality to dashboard builder as well.  Would be great to color code reports so when leadership is reviewing a high end dashboard they understand easily what each report relates too.  (Ex.  Red reports are connected to Risk, Green is ARR, Blue is CTA, etc.)

All good points. Inline editing is great but like Justin said - it’s difficult for users to understand which columns are editable. Furthermore this could be an opportunity to allow reporting look less mundane. E.g. highlighting not only editable columns but also more important ones to direct attention based on color coding.

💯

Google Sheets makes highlighting data so much easier.
