Make Customer Contacts the owner of tasks

I'm not sure how technically feasible this is, or if there is a practical application of it, but thought I would throw it out on community to see.

I was onsite last week at NewVoiceMedia and they mentioned it would be great to have the ability to log assign tasks within a playbook to the customer. I mentioned we could create a dummy internal user that holds all "customer activities" for now. However, it got me thinking if it would be useful to also be able to assign tasks (maybe either follow ups in timeline, or tasks within success plans for large initiatives), that the customer owns and then could actually interact with.

We'd have to somehow be able to assign a task to either a contact or user in the same task, which Im not sure is even possible (Maybe with Native??). But as we talk about more external sharing like success plans, it would be cool if the customer could interact with that success plan link and update/close the tasks that are assigned to them.

We shared a success plan with a customer and would have been great to have put their name to some of the tasks. I believe that Karl mentioned at Pulse that we are planning to make the sharing link interactive (closing tasks) which would also be really great

You have my upvote on this. I think we might need to confine it to Success Plan tasks. I can only imagine if someone accidentally assigned a Risk CTA to a customer contact.

One thought that comes to mind is that without a Cockpit view, it would be challenging for any external contacts to manage tasks they might be assigned to. They might get the initial notification, but they'd probably start accumulating overdue tasks unless they were super vigilant to take action on every one as soon as it came in.

We could leverage the sharing capabilities here.  I have seen other products that do this and they do leverage email notifications with links to the right place to modify or update the task.
