Right now, the default option for CTAs is to update if the name, status, and reason are the exact same CTA rule is triggered. You can use the name as well, but that is with the assumption you have something tokenized in the name to make it always unique.

I would like to control this more with the radio buttons. It would be helpful to have options for “create”, “create or update”, and “close”.

There are some CTAs that we never want it to look to update. For these, I want the option to just “create”.For ones we want to update, I would like the option to “create or update”.

Additionally, it is very confusing that the radio button for create allows to also update…. this should be more clear so that admins do not need to dig in documentation to understand that “create” is actually “create or update” right now.

@andreammelde sorry for the inconvenience. Considering this feedback is for the new Cockpit and redirecting this to the product team. Thanks for your feedback.

Adding on to this, can we also have the ability to update backend fields on the CTA object? There are often times fields need to be populated for reporting or additional rule work on the backend that don’t need to be displayed on the front UI side.

If we could just have a “Update Existing CTA” Action that lets you update whatever field you want on the CTA object I think would solve for both.

@Wayne This makes sense. We will connect back when we are working on updating CTA through rules. Thanks.
