Customer Goals - Metrics Per Goal

We will be introducing Goal Type very soon in Customer Goals and with that admin will be able to choose the Metrics that apply to each Goal Type.

Even with this, do you think there is a need to add a CSM selection?

@mpatra Maybe?  I could still see it being a bit cumbersome depending on how Goal Types will work.

@bradybluhm @mpatra after looking at the setup assigning Goal type would help but we still might need the flexibility of assigning specific metrics to a goal independently. Similar, if not the same as the initial example

Are there any developments here? We are happy with a single Goal type, utilizing the Library for preset values, and all Goals having the same fields and layout. However, we need more flexibility with Metrics. For any Goal, the user should be able to create a custom metric and determine the Unit of Measure.

@sami.burk my current workaround for this was to create 3 generic metrics - one for %, one for currency, and one for numeric.  Then, created fields on the goal itself for them to identify the metric and add a description. Not ideal, but at least allowed for tracking and flexibility in defining metrics.

Thanks for the response :) I started with a similar workaround but it just feels so clunky! I ended up switching it to just one Metric, using Decimal for unit of measure (since it would work for a $, %, or #), and having a field where they indicate other details including the specifics for the type of measure. Not great, but the other field is required to provide details anyway since they can’t change the name of the Metric.

Any love for Goals and Metrics please? ​@mpatra
