There are times where we are using SFDC picklist data fields within rules and view filters.   It appears there is no way to check for blank/None/ (null) values.  Unfortunately, there are times when there is no data in the picklist data field (or SFDC allows you to have a None value).

would be nice to check for null values in GS rules/views so that errors , warnings and accounts can be processed correctly.

thanks

This is pretty rare to have a picklist value that's simply blank, because that makes data maintenance harder (with or without gainsight). In our SFDC instance we use the value "--None--" to highlight to the user that nothing was selected. I don't suppose that's an option for your org?

it is an option and that is what appears in SFDC.   But in GS, there is no way that I have found to check for that value in a GS rule or view filter.   At least when the data type for the data field is a SFDC picklist.

Yes, I'm having to reduce my set of filters based on this limitation - this makes the Gainsight filtering and dashboards less functional than what we have in excel and tableau.

Thanks all for the feedback. Just so that i understand the request here, you'd want the ability to add filters such as != NULL for picklist data type, correct?

Thanks,
Sumesh

Yes, we'd like the same functionality as excel so would like to do includes and excludes in a picklist for things like NULL or Blanks.

Hi folks,
Wanted to point out that I was successful at looking for null values in a picklist by selecting "excludes" and then selecting all items in the list, as shown here in a Rule Action: https://cl.ly/10062P1r0t2y
