Allow RSVP for an event to act as joining a group, and represent the group association on the event description.

This allows for groups to be used as content holders for event Q&As and conversations, as well as polling. Its an opportunity to use your community as your event’s Sli.do platform. Only instead of the group/ room disappearing after the event, your attendees now have access to the community...

Thanks @SmartlyGreg! I like the idea of having people join a group for communication during and after the event. Am I interpreting this correctly?

In the end we turned off Events from our InSided platform as it duplicates the similar page on our website.  We did go ahead and run a group in InSided with the same name as the event, and felt having multiple places (groups and events) called the same thing in the same platform was just confusing.

If you do want to have Events enabled and to tie a group invite to the RSVP, then you can use the custom RSVP link to add the Group invite link. Granted it makes for a slightly weird user experience if not clearly explained but for now its a workaround!

Another workaround I thought of was adding a modal pop-up window for people that press the RSVP to present the option to also join the event group.

Hope this helps!
