Ability to natively embed Staircase reports into Gainsight Dashboards

As an admin, I’d like the ability to natively embed Staircase reports into Gainsight dashboards. I don’t like that we have to create separate dashboards in two Gainsight tools, or direct users to go to two separate places, to solve the same user need.

This is primarily focused around CSM & Manager’s Dashboards, but can be used for other use cases.

Here are a few use cases:

  • Including Team Stats report for Managers
  • Add Churn Risk event reports into both Manager’s and CSM dashboards
  • Highlight positive sentiment signals to managers
  • Adding Risk & Expansion analysis reports for both Managers and CSMs
  • Adding Churn Analysis into Executive Dashboards
  • Including Missing Contacts, Data Sync, and System stats into Admin dashboard

Actual integration is one of the main questions I had at a previous org when we were considering getting Staircase and I was told my request was basically a request of time as I’d “just be checking a box” - these types of things are exactly why I wanted to do a POC with CS and Staircase integrated.

This type of limitation is a big miss for users, and not something you’d easily find out before you bought, without trying it.

Tossing my vote on this pile.
For context, we’ve got a new COO, who’s heard great things about Gainsight and Staircase - but he dislikes the clunkiness of going between the two apps - making him far less likely to adopt. If we could make him one overarching dashboard with reports from both, we’d make his day.

We’ve not yet purchased Staircase (have ongoing discussions) but this is already something we’ve heard as critical for our leaders. Not having the ability to incorporate reports into their standard workflows is likely to slow adoption & usage, so this is ideally something we’d like to see addressed sooner.

Yes! With the CS platform designed to function as a unified CRM, platform hopping is a burden on users. This is particularly relevant when considering less familiar users who rarely operate in Staircase but rely on these insights to drive strategy, customer experience, etc.

Similarly, the duplication that’s required to surface the same insights in both (integrated) systems is unnecessarily burdensome. Not only does it take time to duplicate the reports, this also introduces data alignment risks as changes from Staircase (SOT) are not carried over, requiring manual maintenance. This would be a significant admin quality of life improvement; admins and ops teams have far more impactful work to focus on.

Coming back to this issue. We have users making reports in staircase - many of which are almost the exact same, just filtered to their own patch of interest. Instead of 60 versions of the same report, one for each person, a dashboard where you could filter to your needs with the same base report would be 100x more efficient.

It also would help with this:

notably, if they want a csv emailed of only one report, it wouldn’t solve for that, but they might not need it emailed if there’s an easier way to get to what they want. and if they email themselves a dash from cs for...whatever reason, it would save them 20 individual emails potentially.

I’ll talk with Preethi to ideate on how we could make something like this work.

in the meantime, I highly recommend individuals create their reports to be visible to them, not a shared report. Then they can recommend their favorites to you to build as a shared report that others could use to filter for themselves.

Might be worth limiting shared report making to only managers and admins. 🤔

I’d also like to add a feature for saving your favorite filters as a user. This would make getting to the data you need easier.

AI on my mind!
