Ability to see associated goals when viewing a CTA

When viewing a customer goal, you can see associated CTAs and success plans to that goal and when viewing a success plan, you can see goals that are associated to that success plan. It’s not possible to tell when viewing a CTA which goals are associated to it. It makes for a disjointed process when viewing a CTA. You should be able to see the association from not sides as you can Success Plans and Goals.

This is a no brainer. This also seems like something that came up way back in the Customer Goals beta….two years ago now? Customer Goals has so much potential that seems to constantly be squandered and I can’t understand why.

Oh this is ridiculous 😅 Gainsight’s product team needs to think through all dependencies when shipping new features. It sounds to me like the Customer Goals team didn’t talk to the Cockpit/CTA team when developing & shipping this feature…

What a confusing and disjointed user experience this creates. It’s especially disappointing when our users have been asking for Customer Goal association to SPs/CTAs, and now it’s available, but still doesn’t meet the full need….

Absolutely. This is the problem with how features in general tend to get delivered. There’s seemingly no interaction with other teams on how the feature could work holistically. Instead they’re delivered as if in a vacuum.

@pgeorge Another point to consider in terms of general product continuity and re-thinking “what is an MVP” for a feature release, and what admins and users look for with features that *should* hopefully be fast-follows if not part of an initial release. We typically want to use the whole product, not parts of it.

If Goals can be associated to Objective CTAs, then users should be able to view and manage this association in ALL related places...

This includes:

  • from the Goals tab (currently this is available)
  • from the associated Goal within a Success Plan (not possible)
    • click on Success Plan
    • click on the associated Goal that you see in the right panel
    • manage associated CTA(s) from here
  • from the associated Objective CTA within a Success Plan (not possible)
    • click on Success Plan
    • click on Objectives
    • click on a specific Objective
    • view & manage associated Goal(s)
  • from the Objective CTA in Cockpit (not possible)
    • click on Cockpit
    • click on Objective
    • view & manage associated Goal(s)

100%!

No silos, please. We should absolutely be able to see a drop-down hierarchy.

Hello @tammy_c 👋

Clarity and purpose are improved when viewing a call to action by having the linked goals clear. To put this feature into practice; a system must be built that connects each cta to its unique goals. It also encourages informed involvement by allowing users in understanding the context and import of the cta. Also monitoring the efficacy of these objectives may provide valuable information for better cta optimisation in the future.
