Ability to use Company lookup fields on Timeline layout

We have fields on our Company object that a CSM uses to track the “sentiment” or “health” of a customer as Red, Yellow, or Green.

 

We want to be able to redisplay this when a Timeline entry is created so that our CSMs have an opportunity to “confirm” the “sentiment”. This also gives us a timestamp in to feed to our Health Score if the data has not changed, but the CSM reviewed.

 

Currently, you cannot create either a lookup field or have a default lookup to the Company object

    Shocked this doesn’t have more upvotes and comments - then again, here I am two years later!

    We want our CSMs to be able to update (or even just reference) company level data as well as they log a timeline entry, but we can’t seem to add those fields to the activity layout.

    This means either a CSM has to go somewhere else, do double work, or we have to have some convoluted rule/update process to have whatever custom field is on Timeline, update the correct field on Company.
