Add a Mini Audio Player to Community Articles
Add a small audio player at the beginning of the articles published in the Community, allowing users to listen to an article instead of reading it.
The way people consume content is changing. Many users today prefer audio because it allows them to consume information while doing other activities, such as walking, running, exercising, commuting, driving, cooking, or simply taking a break from looking at a screen.
Several well-known media and content platforms already offer a “listen to this article” option, and I believe bringing a similar experience to the Community could create a valuable new way for users to engage with our content.
Why this could be valuable?
A native audio option would give users more flexibility in how they consume Community content. Instead of requiring users to sit down and read an article, they could simply press play and listen.
This could:
-Give users another way to consume Community content.
-Make longer articles easier and more convenient to consume.
-Support people with different content-consumption preferences and needs.
-Increase opportunities for users to engage with content while multitasking.
-Potentially reach people who don't regularly consume written Community content.
-Make the overall Community experience more accessible, flexible, and engaging.
Accessibility and inclusion
An audio option could also complement the platform's existing accessibility capabilities by providing another way for users to access written content.
Rather than replacing text, the audio player would simply provide an additional option: read it or listen to it.
