Allow Dropdown Field Creation when creating custom object

Basically what the title says. I’m creating a custom object just for testing, and everything is manually input. I go to create a multiselect dropdown field and holy smokes is it a pain. In order to make a totally new field with new options here’s what I have to do:

1. Data Management
2. Dropdown Lists
3. New Category
4. Fill out New Category
5. Click New Category
6. Add items
7. Go back to the object
8. Add field
9. Change data type
10. Add Category
11. Complete rest of field information.
12. Done

Here’s what I would like

1. Add Field
2. Change Data type to Multi Select
3. Add Items
4. complete field information
5. Done
