Allow the Knowledge Center Bot speech bubble to display once per session, not always on every page refresh

When using the Speech Bubble help text in KC Bot, it is displayed always with every page refresh.  It would be great is this could be configured to show only once per session.  Or, if the user manually clicks the “X” close button, it will not be displayed again.

Hi @link_black , I do acknowledge the use-case here and we have added this to pipeline. I will try and get this prioritised.

Thanks

I’ve seen an issue where sometimes the hint box is invisible. I thought that the hint box was just not showing, but QA found that when they don’t see the hint box, they cannot access part of the UI (and cannot close the invisible hint box). If the hint box showed up only once per session, that would solve our issue.

Adding my agreement for updated options for the speech bubble. I think the once-per-login option would be great. A reminder that the KC is there, then leave the user alone. I can’t use the speech bubble when it keeps appearing on every URL of the site and could cover information the user needs; incredibly annoying to have to close it all the time.

We had a similar experience. I created guidelines for our teams to use the speech bubble, with specific text that we wanted. However, showing the speech bubble with each screen refresh is too annoying. Even once per session might be too often, but is an improvement.

Commenting to say this is sorely needed.

And in case this is still in discovery, once per session is going to be too much for some use cases. We’ll want settings to allow for it to be closed for good once a user sees it X times and/or uses the close button on it.

Example Use case: Announcing a new event or resource. We’d want the speech bubble to be there to highlight the new addition in the in-app hub. But once they open it and check it out (or register for the even, etc), we wouldn’t want that speech bubble to persist for that user. At that point it becomes visual noise.
