Applied filters on search results page should trigger a refresh of the AI Smart Assistant summary

When a user enters a search query and is taken to the search results page, the AI Smart Assistant generates a summary answer at the top of the page and also provides links to the topics that it used as sources for its response. However, when a user applies filters to the search results on the page, the Smart Assistant summary does not update, nor does the sources that it displays, despite the body of knowledge available having been reduced. This introduces inaccuracy into the Smart Assistant’s summary, as well as a missed opportunity for the Smart Assistant to truly offer relevant information based on user input. 

We would like to see functionality added to the search results page so that the action of applying filters to search results triggers a refresh of the Smart Assistant, allowing it to recalculate its response based on the available content, and update its sources.

As an example, in our knowledge base we use tags to identify which product is relevant to a specific topic. These tags can be applied as filters on the search results page. This allows a user to filter the results to only the product that is relevant to their question or subscription. But after filtering out topics that are not relevant to their query, the smart assistant will still display it’s outdated (and incorrect) summary and still offer links to source topics that the user has already filtered out. 

Please consider this enhancement as a way to ensure to accuracy on the search results page, build trust in the Smart Assistant’s ability to summarize content, expand the Smart Assistant’s usefulness, and increase opportunities to help users find the answers that they need.
