The Recently Active Topics section is a valuable way to surface engagement across the community, but today it aggregates topics from all visible communities and groups, including groups a user is not a member of.

In communities like ours—where custom roles control product‑based visibility—this results in a high volume of content that is technically visible but not relevant to the individual user. This creates unnecessary scrolling and makes it easier to miss important discussions that do apply to them.

The idea is: Provide an option to automatically filter the “Recently Active Topics” widget so that it:

  • Displays topics only from communities the user has visibility to, and
  • Displays topics from groups the user is a member of

Alternatively, allow users to apply a toggle or filter within the widget to:

  • Show All Visible Topics or
  • Show My Groups Only
