Request:
Enable automatic tagging or labeling of users with their role type (e.g., Customer, Partner, Internal Employee) and optionally their associated company name—displayed alongside their name in posts, comments, and profiles.
Example:

  • John Smith – Partner, Company X

  • Jane Doe – Internal Employee

  • Alex Lee – Customer, Company Y

Why it matters:
This improves clarity and context across community discussions and knowledge base engagement by instantly showing who is participating. It also helps internal teams and other users quickly understand the perspective or access level of the contributor without needing to dig deeper.

@Fabuhamdan Thanks for posting this idea.

Just to clarify, by role, do you mean user role in the platform or role in the company?

Company and role info is already optionally available in the user’s profile, shown when you hover or avatar and view the About section. However, it’s not automatically displayed everywhere next to their name—it’s more of an optional field users can fill out if they choose.

I’m curious—do you see this being enough for your use case, or are you hoping to make role and company info more visible by default across posts and comments? I ask because this really comes down to user preference and visibility expectations. Keeping it optional and tucked into the profile tends to stay safer from a privacy perspective, but if we surface it more widely, we’d want to be thoughtful about user consent and settings.
