Hi All - I’d love the ability to bulk assign custom roles. We give our employees a role of employee and will be giving our customers a custom role as well. Right now, I have to do this manually, per person. Takes about 4 clicks, with a search and open in new tab.
It’d be sweet if I could run a search in the User Overview, have multi select check boxes, and assign a role that way. Even being able to do page by page versus all of them would save me a TON of time.

We would love to use this feature as well to help give limited access for our customers to certain articles. We want to create articles that are available only for a limited amount of customers who are part of a beta test. I created a user role and hidden section in the community as per this article. However, there doesn’t seem to be an easy way for me to take a list of customers and change their user role. If it were only a handful it wouldn't be too bad, but for 40-50 users, it’s a tad frustrating that this feature doesn’t exist.
Looking forward to hearing any progress about this request.

+1We just added community activity to our global support delivery team’s KPAs (yay!), which means I need to track activity for those people - all 400 of them.
So that means I have to manually look up 400 people and give them a new role. I did it, but WOOF.
I don’t imagine this is the last time it’ll come up, so I continue to hope for this idea!
I would love this functionality as well! We add secure content based on client’s environments to their knowledge base, and assign custom roles so that they can access this content. When I have a client join with more than 20 users (some have 100+), having this ability to mass add roles would be really helpful!
Any update on this idea? I am currently onboarding my whole company and would expect to have the ability to auto-assign an employee role to anyone registering with a company.com email address. This is a default setting in Discourse, so I kind of expected it to exist here too, but it looks like others have not found a solution yet. Are there any plans to implement this? I expect that we’re going to want to have similar rules based on customer and/or partner company domains too at some point. I’m not looking for something that I’ll need to fiddle with APIs and webhooks for (the whole reason we chose inSided was because of the self-serviceability). Would love an update here. Thanks!
+1+1In case you missed it: since a couple of weeks, you’re able to select multiple users and bulk apply a role to them!

I want to add: When you can bulk apply roles you should also be able to bulk remove roles.
