Bulk assign tags public or moderator tags to topics via Control

Hey Scott, thanks for sharing! This is something we also have in mind internally. :) 

In your use case, what’s the best way to update the tags: Would you like to replace all the tags with new tags, or add a tag to all the selected topics, or both?

I’ll keep it open and let others vote and comment on this idea. 

@xiaoyu-shen Both - ability to add additional tags and the ability to replace existing tags with the new tags.

Came here to see if this was possible. I’m trying to add a consistent tag to everything in a parent category - all 500 topics - to say which release they belong that. That’s something I have to do manually, 500 times. Bulk tags - even 25 at a time - would save me TONS of time. 

Yep, we would find this v useful as well. We are about to do a community restructuring (make sure to read this useful guide first and will migrate tons of topics into other subcategories, but will need to manually add some tags to certain topics before we do the migration in order to add some relevant info.

Just beginning to actually use Moderator Tags and was surprised that assigning a Moderator Label/Tag was not already a bulk action. I would imagine that assigning tags/labels would be a much more common action than Trash or move.

Anyway, this is my way of surfacing this again. It already had my vote. :) 

Found this and hoping that this is in the upcoming improvements mentioned.

Thanks for keeping this alive, the "it's been three years" callout is heard. (Now it’s four 💀)

Here's where we are: we're currently focused on tag taxonomy and auto-tagging improvements, along with strengthening the underlying add/remove tags API. Once that foundation is solid, bulk tag assignment - both adding and editing moderator and public tags - is a natural next step, and this thread will directly inform what that looks like.

No firm timeline yet, but this isn't lost in the backlog. I'll post an update here when we're closer.
